Working overnight shifts at the 2 Sisters factory in Llangefni, Anglesey, for ten years was Desmond Edwards.
But he and more than 600 other employees lost their jobs when the factory that processed chicken closed three months ago.
Many people on the island were harmed by the closure, including Mr. Edwards, who has still not found another job.
The 2 Sisters factory, also known as "Chuckies" locally, was a major employer on Anglesey for 50 years.

Since the plant closed, he claimed, he had applied for numerous positions but had not yet been hired.

Mr. Edwards claimed he had always been self-sufficient financially but that he was now observing a change.
"It's very difficult; you're used to having money come in each week, and now it's gone, and I'm not the only one who's feeling the pinch. ".
The factory, according to a different former employee, was a place "you could always fall back on for work.".
The true effects of the closure might not be felt until later this year when former employees have used up their savings and redundancy pay, according to Mon CF, a service that provides training and advice on the island.
Alun Roberts from Mon CF said, "It's been a huge blow, and I don't think we've seen the full effects of the closure.
"Some have received payments that are enabling them to continue, while others have been fortunate enough to find alternative employment, but I believe the full effects will only become apparent in the fall when we will have a clearer idea of how many people are unemployed. " .
Mr. Roberts advised against underestimating the impact on former employees' mental health.

Bradley Latty-Williams is one former 2 Sisters employee who has secured employment.
He joined Mon CF and is now assisting job seekers with their resumes and application materials.
"We try to give them any support they need to get into work," he said.

More than 123 former 2 Sisters employees, 60 of whom now have new jobs, were helped, according to Mon CF.
Although the Department for Work and Pensions was unable to confirm it, a sizable portion of the more than 600 former employees are believed to have found new jobs.
The island experienced a series of economic shocks leading up to the closure of the 2 Sisters factory, including the closure of numerous factories in earlier years.
With the promise of more jobs following the announcement of the freeport as well as renewable energy projects like Morlais, there is hope for the future.
