Many areas of northern India's daily life have been hampered by the recent heavy snowfall.
The majority of Kashmir, which is administered by India, was covered in a thick layer of snow, which cut off power and caused delays in air, rail, and road travel.
Avalanche warnings have been issued by the authorities for 10 districts in the area.
The renowned shikara or houseboats on the famous Dal Lake in Srinagar's capital city are partially covered in snow and the lake has partially frozen over.
The weather also interfered with the travel plans of a number of Congress party leaders who were in the area as part of their Monday-ending 4,000 km (2,485 mi) "unity march" across India.
All flights from Srinagar had to be canceled due to bad weather on Tuesday, according to a tweet from Congress MP Jairam Ramesh, so several MPs would not be able to attend the budget session in parliament.
Authorities in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh closed some important highways and roads after unrelenting snowfall disrupted daily life.
Similar conditions existed in Uttarakhand, a neighboring state, where snow accumulation on the roads on Tuesday caused traffic on important national highways to be disrupted for hours.
According to the weather service, things might get better starting on Wednesday morning.
